The lack of rainfall is having significant and ongoing impacts onto regional communities around the State, but especially in our region. I hear from farmers that they are having to either sell off their stock, or some having to put down their stock, because otherwise they would be starving in their paddocks.
It is utterly heartbreaking.
We hear that there is hay interstate that has been paid for, donated, but haven’t been trucked over because the government is being tardy in their considerations.
I spoke on this matter in Parliament this week, while our Liberal team met with farmers to offer our support to them in these most difficult times.
