Port Lincoln Roadworks – Question to the Minister

Last week in Parliament, I asked the Minister for Regional Roads about the works being conducted along Liverpool Street and Hallett Place in Port Lincoln.

The government is bulldozing on with the works to change this main thoroughfare through town, to remove the left turn slipways on these intersections, despite continued opposition from the community, including during the formal consultation process.

Community concerns are about the impact this will have on daily movements of freight, school drop-offs, business access, and peak hour traffic.

These concerns have been ignored by the Minister and Department, and I called on the Minister to pause these works to more appropriately reflect the community’s ongoing concern that removing the left turn slipways will only cause more traffic chaos!
